Newport, Rhode Island is a beautiful town with a rich history. Home to several intricately detailed mansions, Newport is a popular tourist attraction along the Atlantic Coast. One mansion, the Breakers, was built between 1893 and 1895. This property was owned by Cornelius Vanderbilt, who helped develop shipping and railroad industries, and used primarily as a summer home.

Newport, Rhode Island

In addition to its place in American secular history, Newport is home to the United Baptist Church that was founded by John Clarke in 1638. Today, however, Newport is a place that is in dire need of the Gospel. While the community is wealthy in wordly riches, it is destitute of the spiritual riches that only God can bring.

There is no independent, fundamental Baptist church within the city limits and there is no one to go door-to-door. While it’s sights are incredibly scenic, it’s souls are lost and in need of a Saviour.

There are churches working with us that are actively praying for God to send a preacher to help them start a church in Newport.  Newport desperately needs a preacher that will stay and help these souls come to Christ. Other churches will help with finances and manpower.  Will you pray?  Will you go?
