In John 14, Jesus told His followers that He was going to “prepare” a place for them. In fact, He is building a mansion for each of His followers. What a glorious and comforting thought that is!
How sad then when we read Nehemiah 8:10 where it says, “unto them for whom nothing is prepared…”
There are many millions out there for whom Christ is NOT preparing. He is NOT building them anything. There are NO mansions under construction for them. How sad that is!
At the end of verse 10, the Bible says, “the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
That is talking about you and me, Christian. We have joy that these others do NOT have. We have this joy because of the LORD. That joy brings us strength.
We have this joy and strength because of what the Scripture says in verse 12. The verse says, “because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.”
The reason that we have this joy, strength, and a place is being prepared for us is because we heard the Word of God declared unto us and we understood it. Thank God for that!
In verse 13, we find that more people gathered the second day. The purpose of their gathering was “even to understand the words of the law.”
The people who understood the words in verse 12 went home and talked about what they had learned and it drew a crowd of people who had NOT heard NOR understood to come the second day.
That is what soul winning is all about! It is about a person who understands, telling someone who does NOT understand, so that they can both have something prepared for them by the Lord.
Go out today and find someone who wants Jesus Christ to work for them.
He is working for us already. He is building us a mansion that is “prepared.”
Thank God that He is!
