Stepping out by faith to hold the first church service on April 3, 2022.

My name is Zach Kinsman. In February 2022, I will have been married to my beautiful wife Catharine for six years. My wife and I grew up attending the same church together, and we dated throughout high school and college. We were married in February of 2016, and God blessed us with a baby boy named Luke in October of 2020.

I graduated Bible college in 2015 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in pastoral theology. Since May of 2015, I have been serving at my home church, Northeast Baptist Church, in Danbury, Connecticut, as the youth pastor and bus director. My home church is pastored by my father-in-law, Joe Vassak, and it has been a joy and tremendous learning experience working alongside him these last several years.

I am forever grateful for his impact and influence on my life.

New England has been my home since I was three years old, and since I was a teenager, I have known the Lord has called me to pastor and help reach New England for Christ. Since I was raised here, the Lord has opened my eyes to the spiritual potential of the Gospel being spread throughout these communities, but there is a tremendous lack of churches to accomplish the work. That is why, with the Lord’s help, my family along with a small team, will be planting the New Heights Baptist church in Newtown, Connecticut, in April of 2022.

Newtown, Connecticut, is home to roughly 28,000 people and is located 70 miles northeast of New York City. It is situated between Fairfield and New Haven County, Connecticut, which are home to over 1.6 million people. Many of them have never heard the Gospel, and the number of churches being planted and reaching these masses of people is very few.

Church
I truly believe the only hope for our nation is to start Gospel-preaching churches throughout our country.

Our goal is to reach the community of Newtown with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to establish a healthy New Testament church. It is our vision that God can use us to make disciples of Christ that can go out and continue to plant churches throughout Connecticut.

We have been told many times that New England is a “hard” area to reach for Christ, but my wife and I believe God has called us and prepared us our whole lives for this endeavor. It is our goal to be a light for Christ in such a dark place.

The Lord has opened opportunities to support my family financially while giving us the flexibility to serve the demanding needs of a new church family. This means that all contributions and money raised will go directly to the startup, operation, and outreach costs of this new church plant. Not one dollar will go towards me or my family.

In addition, the Lord has helped us assemble a small team to help my family and I birth this new church and see it get off to a strong start. We are thankful for the other married couples and team members that God has brought our way to join the New Heights Baptist launch team.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 a month in support from churches and individuals that would be willing to partner with our ministry.

We believe that this will be enough to pay for a rented facility in which to meet, outreach materials, and other startup expenses that come with birthing a new church.

In addition, we are currently preparing and saving money to go towards a few special projects. The first is direct mailers that will be sent out to every home in Newtown with a presentation of the Gospel and information regarding our church. Secondly, we want to begin saving and getting the money together for auditorium chairs that we could use on a weekly basis. And lastly, a computer, soundboard, and media equipment that will be necessary to run our services professionally and efficiently. If you would be interested in giving towards one of these projects or supporting us on a monthly basis, please contact me through phone or email.

Starting a new work for the Lord will always attract spiritual opposition. Would you please pray for us? The faithful prayers of God’s people will make a tremendous impact on the furthering of the Gospel in Newtown, Connecticut.

We are stepping out by faith and will hold our first service on April 3, 2022.
