New England Baptist Teen Camp

The Scripture that comes to mind as I reflect on the incredible week of New England Baptist Teen Camp is Ephesians 3:20, 21.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

We prayed, and we worked, and we anticipated the hand of God to move in a great way at NEBTC. God is still in the business of doing mighty works – here in New England! We committed ourselves to a labor of love, and God did a greater work than we could have ever imagined! What a God!

Here are some highlights:

  • The preaching was incredible! According to the testimony of the young people, the preaching and teaching were life changing. Scores and scores of incredible decisions by some amazing young people were the heart of teen camp.
  • The singing and the spirit of teen camp was phenomenal! We had music groups from four different Bible colleges sing and represent their schools.
  • The spirit of the campers was super all week long.
  • The team competition was close all week long! Each team worked hard, and all the campers stayed engaged the entire week.
  • The counselors were incredible servants! I am amazed at how many adults from churches all over New England take an entire week (some of them their only vacation) to come and serve our teenagers. Some of the greatest servants of Christ I know are the youth leaders in our churches in New England.
  • We capped off teen camp with an exciting Patriotic Teen Rally, which was held at the First Baptist Church of Groton, Massachusetts. The church was packed, the teen choir sang five powerful songs from their heart, and the preaching that night was a great finish!

Again, I can tell you that we did anticipate God to work mightily this year, but He certainly surpassed our expectations. We give Him all the glory for that! Those that were there can testify the same; it’s one of those meetings where all you can say is, “I guess you had to be there!”
